Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION: Ensure all financial records and statements are
in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting
principles (GAAP) Identify and recommend resolutions for any
discrepancies or irregularities they find in records, statements,
or documented transactions Be able to communicate their insights
and reports with people outside of finance; therefore, strong
communication and interpersonal skills are highly preferred Create
and examine the accuracy of financial statements to ensure all
financial records and statements are in line with laws,
regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
These records and statements include the balance sheet, the profit
and loss statement, the cash-flow statement, and tax returns
Ability to document business financial transactions over time, and
compile the information needed to prepare entries for company
accounts, such as the general ledger. Prepare weekly, monthly,
quarterly, or annual closing statements and cost accounting
reports. Accountants must also resolve discrepancies or
irregularities in records, statements, or documented transactions.
They typically observe established accounting control procedures
through an accounting system or software program Other
finance-related tasks in addition to analyzing financial records
and statements. Other job duties include monitoring the efficiency
of accounting control procedures or software programs. Help to
ensure that procedures and programs are up to date with federal and
state regulations Reconciliation of payroll, verification of
contracts and orders, and collecting receivables may be part of an
accountant's duties. At higher levels, accountants are involved in
constructing company budgets and developing financial models Audit
financials and make adjusting entries for month-end close Bank
Reconciliations for all companies on a weekly and monthly basis
Review daily payment postings and auto payments and other entries
that may need to be posted to the Accounting software Review
monthly fuel bills and receipts Bank Reconciliation Make any
general journal entries required Process Payroll Process
subcontractor checks Assist Controller/CFO with reporting to
execute team and other special projects Other duties as
assignedREQUIREMENTS: Excellent verbal and written communication
skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with
internal and external customers Excellent computer proficiency (MS
Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook) Must be able to work under
pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work
independently and to carry out assignments to completion within
parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard
accepted practices High school diploma or GED required Bachelor's
