Throughout the organization we champion core values of safety, innovation, quality and leadership.About the RoleThe Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting and some administrative support to the Midland, TX office of Clean Chemistry. The ideal candidate will be excited about wearing many "hats" in a relaxed small business environment. You will work directly with the Controller and Payroll Manager, both of whom bring many years of public accounting experience and are eager to train the right candidate. The position will also help with a small amount of office administrative tasks. The list of responsibilities below is not comprehensive. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, eager to learn, and will look for other areas to be helpful if the workload is smaller than expected.ResponsibilitiesPerforms general cost accounting and other related duties for the organizationPrepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statementsPrepares weekly reporting requirements for debt agreementsReconciles cash disbursement accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts for compliance with US GAASFiles sales tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies, monthly, annually, quarterly as required by tax laws and complianceCoordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.Manages the purchasing and invoicing system to streamline daily tasks and monthly dutiesMaintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and proceduresPreparing weekly and monthly activity reports, as requestedAssisting in Month End Closing Customs and ProceduresReconciling various accounts including AR, AP, and fixed assetsFacilitating credit card expense submissionMaintains Accounts PayableAssisting AP personnel with the scanning, uploading, and entering of invoices into the AP systemRequesting bill approval by managers through the APReconciling AP and develop a purchase orders system within the company's current software applicationManaging Accounts Receivable and Invoice PreparationAssisting with the preparation of invoices, including inventory double check and dose calculations as neededMaintain current system platform for AR invoicing and trackingGeneral knowledge and understanding of AR submission software platformsSubmitting field tickets and/or invoices to appropriate customers when applicableOther functions and projects as neededRequirements5+ years of accounting experienceBachelor's degree in accounting or other applicable field strongly preferredAbility to work with minimal supervisionComputer / tech savvy (Excel and G-suite are used extensively)Protect company's value by keeping information confidentialAttention to detail, thoroughness, and follow-throughCan do attitude / team playerStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust possess valid driver's license and working vehicleMust be able to sit for long periods of time, working on the computerMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain compliance with company drug policyCompensation and BenefitsSalaried, exempt, full time position, anticipated 40+ hrs. per weekHealth, Dental, Vision, Life, RetirementCompany-wide bonus initiativesClean Chemistry is an Equal Opportunity Employer
