SummaryBlackbeard Operating, LLC is seeking an Asset Engineer.
The role will be an engineering position responsible for certain
assets within the Permian Basin. The role will utilize multiple
disciplines including production, completions, drilling, facilities
and reservoir engineering to provide a well-rounded stewardship of
the assets. The position will be located in Midland, Texas and
report directly to the Operations Manager.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the 'General Contractor' and lead field-wide, 24/7,
technical operations and development of assigned Permian operated
assets
- Accountable for Daily Production, Lease Operating Expenditures,
and Capital Expenditures o Will work directly with Foremen, Lease
Operators, contractors and vendors o Emphasis on quality time in
the field on a regular basis to develop a rapport and establish
effective communication with the Field Team
- Ability to submit AFE evaluations with economic justifications
for project approval
- Responsible for discovering, investigating and recommending
value adding projects to enhance the asset base including
production surveillance, optimization, and upside potential
- Required to prepare for and lead annual Wellbore Review process
over assigned assets
- Must compile pre-pull procedures before all workover operations
to provide clear direction to the field personnel, and ensure all
parties are aligned with the proposed work process
- Required to work with the Operations team including; Area
Landman, Reservoir Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Geologist,
Division Financial Analyst, Safety and Management
- Must be willing to work flexible hours in the office and the
field
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required with 2-5
years of industry experience
- Well-rounded background including drilling, completions,
production and basic principles of the upstream E&P
Industry
- Strong understanding of fundamental statistical and financial
principles in order to assist with economic analysis or
justification of projects
- Must be self-motivated, maintain high character, organized, pay
attention to detail, and be able to balance a large workload
- Ability to compile and manipulate data from a variety of
sources to assist with technical analysis (Petra, Aries,
ComboCurve, DrillingInfo, Texas RRC, SCADA (Cygnet), Carte,
PowerBI)
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a
multi-discipline team
- Ability to anticipate and execute value-adding projects with
minimal supervision
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Expert-level proficiency with Petra, Aries, PowerPoint, Excel
and Power B
