Job Description:
Position Summary: The Engineering Technician is responsible for
overseeing all aspects of Project Controls for the project(s) and
region assigned, such as: planning, scheduling, reporting, cost
control, contract management and overall functional support of the
project(s) in assigned region. The incumbent is responsible for
collecting cost information analyzing, and generating cost reports,
collect progress, from the field and perform calculations and
forecast analysis, providing recommendations to the project manager
and business manager regarding the project. The incumbent will also
actively engage in developing and monitoring budgets and schedules
and controlling costs for large projects with many complex
features. Essential Job Functions:
Directly supports project from
implementation to closeout, ensuring compliance with project
controls regional standards and procedures. Oversees life cycle
cost analyses, economic/financial evaluations, productivity
evaluations and value engineering analyses Provides technical
guidance in analyzing and interpreting complex sections of project
scope documents and reports Provides key support, development, and
participation during plan reviews, improving design approaches and
reducing project costs Participates in the development of quality
and assurance plans within the project controls Assists in the
development and implementation of project controls standards and
procedures Develops and maintains project schedule(s) that provides
a critical path through major project milestones to completion
Assists in the preparation of conceptual, preliminary, and
definitive estimates Ensures that all project scheduling activities
such as schedule development, updates, progress reporting, and
recommendations for corrective action comply with company and
client requirements Will assist, guide, and recommend all project
managers in areas of Planning, Reporting, Cost Control and Contract
Management. Responsible for project controls deliverables
Responsible for administration of all minor and major contracts,
work orders, and POs from implementation to closeout. Actively
engages in developing and monitoring budgets Advises project
management on cost impact of proposed design or construction
changes Advises clients of cost trends and their effects on
anticipated project expenditures Assists in the determination of
project manpower requirements and prepares periodic forecasts of
personnel utilization Maintains project schedule in accordance with
company standards and procedures Participates in proposal
preparation, meetings, and client presentations Ensures successful
transfer of information to all stakeholders on regular basis
Ensures safety and environmental management is communicated,
implemented, and adhered to Ensures adherence and compliance with
all local, state, and federal laws and regulations Attends training
sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by
department. North Dakota locations only: The incumbent will travel
between project sites in North Dakota. Other duties as
assignedRequired Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma, or
equivalent. Bachelors Degree or university degree with relevant
construction or project management, business administration or
accounting, or engineering degree is preferred. Work Experience:
Two (2) to five (5) years project controls experience in relevant
field License/Certifications:
- Valid driver license, clean driving
record OSHA 10 Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire H2S
Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire Alaska locations
only: North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Training,
required

exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and equipment. North
Dakota locations only: The employee must be able to physically
travel by air within, and out of, the State of North Dakota. The
employee will be required to work and stay on site during the work
rotation and must comply with all Company and Client policies
