Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, DCP Midstream operates assets in 17 states. Position Summary: DCP is seeking a candidate to join our corrosion team. DCP's Corrosion program is a corporate center of excellence and the successful candidate will be one of the company's subject matter experts for corrosion mitigation, maximizing the return on our pipeline investment and serving both our internal and external customers. Corrosion Tech Responsibilities * Utilize corrosion test equipment and instrumentation * Manage and oversee internal corrosion treatment program including: * Working with specialty chemical suppliers to monitor and treat pipelines in prevention of internal corrosion * Interpreting internal corrosion data from coupons and liquid sample collections and taking remedial action * Evaluating pipeline for internal corrosion root causes and other defects * Critically evaluating the chemical program and making recommendations for improvements * Perform cathodic protection pipe to soil surveys, read rectifiers and record readings * Design and maintain rectifiers and groundbeds * Test, repair and monitor shorted casings * Identify and mitigate AC and DC interference * Conduct atmospheric corrosion inspections and investigations and analyze the data * Provide work direction/oversight to crews performing close interval surveys and DCVG/ACVG studies. Perform remedial actions according to data results. * Maintain records and complete required reports for internal corrosion program and cathodic protection * Prepare as-built sketches and redlines existing drawings * Responsible for DOT compliance and audits for assets * Apply corrosion mitigation to underground facilities * Conduct soil analysis * Perform non-destructive testing on pipelines to determine wall thickness * Work with DCP Corrosion software solutions including PCS, XMAP and Maximo Working Conditions: * Be physically able to perform all duties required which may involve among other things: walking over uneven terrain, bending, moving from ground level to higher levels, raising/lifting from ground level a load up to 50 lbs., manually transporting a load up to 75 lbs., applying up to 100 foot pounds of torque. * Work indoors and outdoors, get in and out of vehicles, work around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment * Move around equipment and working in confined areas * Work in temperature extremes to the extent of weather conditions and operating equipment * Must wear special safety equipment while working * Comply with all company, state and federal regulations such as the DOT Pipeline Qualification Rules Basic Qualifications: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma. NACE Level 2 Certification or equivalent experience is preferred. Internal Corrosion for Pipelines-Advanced also preferred. Candidate must have a record of positive work performance, an excellent safety record and the ability to perform work independently. Prior work history will show a candidate who is dependable and reliable, has good organizational skills and experience with customer relationship management. Must be able to read, understand and apply policies and best practices based on regulatory standards and guidelines. Candidate will be able to provide understandable and legible reports. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license. Desired Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of internal corrosion including coupon placement, chemical selection, and corrosion assessments and be able to make corrosion mitigation recommendations. In addition, the candidate will have in-depth experience with cathodic protection and a clear understanding of PHMSA rules and regulations. Experience using PCS software and XMAP are preferred as they are used across the company.
