Job Description:

• 
  
• A pharmacist is required to comply with state and federal laws regulated by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Food and Drug Administration. -
  
• In doing so, a pharmacist must maintain records for controlled substances, remove outdated or damaged drugs from inventory, supervise the work results of support personnel, maintain a current registration, and stay up to date with current standard practices and laws.
  
  
  Essential Functions/Performance Expectations:
  
  
  • 
    
  • Provides pharmacological information by answering requests of healthcare professionals and by monitoring drug therapy and advising on interventions.
    
  • Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow; - verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
    
  • Ensures accuracy of entered orders and timely delivery of medications to the respective recipient.
    
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with established hospital policies and procedures
    
    Education and Experience:
    
    
    • 
      
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required
      
    • Current State of Texas License as a Registered Pharmacist
      
    • Certification in area of specialty (e.g., CACP, CNSC, BCNSP, BCOP, BCPS) preferred
