Job Description
The RN, with a focus on patient safety, is required to function
within them parameters of the legal scope of practice and in
accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and
regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of the
employing health care institution or practice setting. The RN
functions under his or her own license and assumes accountability
and responsibility for quality of care provided to patients and
their families according to the standards of nursing practice. The
RN demonstrates responsibility for continued competence in nursing
practice, and develops insight through reflection, self-analysis,
self-care, and lifelong learning. Successful completion of the
neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) competency-based orientation
which provides documentation of skills needed to provide nursing
care to NICU patient. Proficient in routine and emergent
resuscitation. Assess need and provides interventions to stabilize
newborns at delivery. Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate
resources and processes in providing safe care to the NICU patient
and family.SHIFT AND SCHEDULEPart-Time7:00 PM - 7:00 AMESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS---Complete a comprehensive
assessment. This includes the initial and ongoing,
extensivecollection, analysis and interpretation of
data.---Synthesize the data collected during the comprehensive
assessment to identify problems,make nursing diagnoses, and to
formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes.---Implement the plan
of care. The RN may begin, deliver, assign or delegate
certaininterventions within the plan of care for patients within
legal, ethical, and regulatoryparameters and in consideration of
health restoration, disease prevention, wellness, andpromotion of
healthy lifestyles.-----Evaluate and report patient outcomes and
responses to therapeutic interventions incomparison to benchmarks
from evidence-based practice and research findings, and plansany
follow-up care and referrals to appropriate resources that may be
needed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ---An associate's degree (ADN) or
diploma in nursing is required. A Bachelor of Science inNursing
(BSN) degree is preferred. Our aim is that MMH nurses are prepared
at the BSNlevel. We are committed to support your pursuit of a BSN

06/08/2022 Date Approved: 05/13/2020certification in clinical area
of expertise will be required to advance within the clinicalnurse
professional practice ladder.---Current State of Texas License as a
Registered Nurse---Certification in area of specialty (e.g., MNN,
LRN, NIC) preferred---Current BLS upon hire; NRP required within 6
months of date of employment. CurrentS.T.A.B.L.E courses preferred
and encouraged.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be

walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is
limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for
