Job Description:

Our candidate will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients who require hospitalization during the overnight hours. They will work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and will provide continuity of care to patients admitted to the hospital.FTE: 1.0 - Full-time with a competitive salary and benefits package.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Full time position
  • 7 on / 7 off, 7 pm to 7 am
  • Approximately 10-15 admissions every night
  • Staffing 1 physician, 1 resident/ faculty for cross coverage from 9 pm to 7 am. Swing Physician to help with admissions from 7 pm to 11 pm
  • ICU APP to help with Code blues, Rapid responses, and procedures
  • IM and FM residents to help with admissions.
  • Previous Hospitalist experience preferred
  • Open to new grads with training in hospital medicine
  • Procedural skills preferred but not required

      • Manage and care for patients during overnight hours.
      • Admit patients during overnight hours.
      • Evaluate and diagnose patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
      • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies as needed.
      • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and monitoring of patients.
      • Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide updates on patient status and coordinate care.
      • Supervise, oversee, and provide feedback on residents and advance practitioners.
      • Document patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
      • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
      • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and hospital performance.
      • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
      • Maintain competence and stay current with advances in medical knowledge and technology through continuing education.
