care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate
postpartum period, ensuring the safety and well-being of both
mother and baby. Monitor vital signs, fetal heart rates, and
contractions to assess the progress of labor, responding promptly
to any complications or changes in condition. Assist physicians and
midwives during labor and delivery, administering medications,
monitoring pain management, and providing emotional support to
mothers. Prepare the labor and delivery rooms, ensuring all
equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use during
deliveries. Educate mothers and families on labor, pain management
options, breastfeeding, and newborn care, offering guidance and
reassurance throughout the process. Perform routine newborn
assessments immediately after delivery, including Apgar scoring,
weight measurement, and initial care, ensuring a smooth transition
to postpartum care. Manage emergency situations, such as postpartum
hemorrhage or fetal distress, by implementing appropriate
interventions and notifying the healthcare team. Document all
patient care, procedures, medications, and observations in
electronic health records (EHR), maintaining accurate and
up-to-date records. Provide discharge education and instructions to
new mothers and their families, including care for themselves and
their newborns. Stay current with best practices in labor and
delivery nursing through continuing education and professional
development. Job Requirements: Strong understanding of labor and
delivery procedures, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate
effectively with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare
professionals. Ability to manage emergency situations and provide
compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Active
[STATE] Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing. A minimum
of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse or in a
similar role. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Experience
