Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Midland, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,504 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 16 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: Minimum of 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS required; AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM preferred Must-Have: - Previous charge experience required - Experience with charting systems preferred Description: Nurse will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, and circulating roles. Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries and vaginal deliveries. Nurse will recover patients post-C-section. Nurse will assist in sterile vaginal exams and administer IV medications. Monitoring fetal heart rates using EFM (External Fetal Monitoring) is required. Nurse must be familiar with insulin drips, antihypertensives, and magnesium sulfate therapy. Flu vaccine is required with exemptions allowed for medical or religious reasons. Nurse will participate in triage of obstetrical patients. Knowledge of infant identification and thermoregulation for neonates is necessary. Skills in breastfeeding support and postpartum care are essential. Nurse will manage IV starts and maintain IVs as part of patient care. Experience with telemetry interpretation and hemorrhage/shock management is advantageous. Recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns is part of the role. Nurse will be involved in patient assessments, including NSTs and reflex checks. Compliance with infection control protocols is mandatory. The position requires flexibility to work some holidays and varied patient ratios. The daily census may fluctuate, and nurses should be prepared for this variability.
