Job Description:
Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Assistant to
join our team, supporting both facility-based and home-based care
sectors across 42 states. The role is pivotal in ensuring that all
patients receive tailored nutritional support aligned with their
recovery and health goals. As part of a collaborative healthcare
team, the Nutrition Assistant will assist in planning,
implementing, and monitoring individual dietary needs in accordance
with the latest health guidelines and the specific protocols of
Encompass Health. Assist in assessing patient nutritional needs and
developing individualized meal plans. Collaborate with dietitians
and healthcare teams to coordinate dietary interventions. Monitor
patient intake and progress, adjusting meal plans as necessary.
Educate patients and families on proper nutritional practices as
related to specific health conditions. Maintain accurate records of
patient nutritional therapy and outcomes. Ensure compliance with
health and safety regulations in food handling and storage. Strong
knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs. Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families,
and healthcare staff. Proficiency in diet planning and evaluating
nutritional content. Ability to work collaboratively within an
interdisciplinary team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational
skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or similar certification preferred.
Food Handler's Certificate as required by state regulations.
