Job Description:

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team in the Food & Beverage Operations department within our healthcare network. This position will play a key role in preparing meals that not only nourish but also comfort our patients across our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and home health agencies. As a Cook at Encompass Health, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient recovery and satisfaction through the culinary arts. Prepare meals following prescribed recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas adhere to health and safety standards. Collaborate with healthcare dietary staff to customize patient meals according to dietary needs. Monitor inventory and order kitchen supplies as needed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and storage areas. Participate in menu planning and the introduction of new dishes. Strong cooking and food preparation skills. Knowledge of sanitary food handling techniques. Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Experience in managing kitchen inventory. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Food Handler's Certificate is required. ServSafe certification is preferred.
