Overview:
Honeywell's Field
Service Technicians are responsible for effectively providing services to
support the on-site installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of
automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications,
drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual
products which comprise these systems.Your Focus:
You will focus on providing
customers with maintenance and modernization services on Honeywell's DCS
Platforms. - The
role requires you to be self-supporting and includes on-site maintenance,
performing system diagnostics & analysis, troubleshooting problems,
installing new systems & replacing parts.

18-month Honeywell
Training & Certification Program:
Commitment of 18 months to obtain and maintain L3 CEAT certification while performing normal job duties.
Work
& Travel Schedule:

  • Typical work week is Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm) with ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Be available for off hour "Emergency On-Call" as needed.
  • Depending on the service requirements for a particular customer or region, this position may require significant travel as well as overnight travel
  • The territory for this role is the Midland and Odessa TX areaCompany
    Vehicle / Travel Expenses:
    • Company vehicle is provided - Must have valid driver's license.
    • Corporate Travel card will be offered to pay for expenses (No expenses come out of your pocket)Ideal
      Candidate:
      • Commitment of 18 month to Honeywell Training & Certification Program while performing normal job duties.
      • 1+ year prior field service experience in supporting technical or engineering services or Military experience in electronics programs may be considered equivalent to this typical qualification
      • Basic understanding of networking and electrical theory
      • 1+ years of experience using Basic Windows and Microsoft Office applications
      • Experience working with Operator HMI (Panels & Touchscreens)
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills must be able to clearly articulate messages both technical and non-technical.
      • Ability to be self-motivated and willingness to work in demanding environments with little or no supervision and take initiative to be proactive.
      • Ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment
      • Experience or knowledge reading electrical drawings and utilize for troubleshooting electrical systems As a Field Service Technician, you will:
        • Maintain Honeywell's suite of (DCS) quality control hardware and software and handle customer questions about the state of the system.
        • Sustain proficiency in all products and services that the company offers. This includes staying current with installation standard methodologies, equipment protocol, and safety guidelines.
        • Provide on-site pre-start-up, start-up, contracted service work, warranty, troubleshooting, and training of Honeywell products, and ensure equipment is operational and free of defects.
        • Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks
        • Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on site.
        • Deal directly with and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, 3rd party vendors and other
        • Honeywell personnel in support of service operations
        • Troubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
        • Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks
        • Review product prints and specifications.
        • When required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers
        • Work with contractors to review and ensure the unit/package is installed to specifications.
        • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting commitmentsYOU MUST HAVE
          • 4 years' experience with control methodology in DCS, PLC, and HMI platforms
          • Strong electronics / instrumentation background
          • Must have valid driver's license.
          • Must be able to travel
          • GED/High School DiplomaWE VALUE
            • Experion PKS Hardware & Software (Highly desired)
            • Associates or Bachelor's in Engineering strongly preferred
            • 3rd Party controls experience
            • Remaining current in technology being developed in the field of automation and recommend new fit for purpose technologies
            • Project Management experience (budget control, schedules, resource allocation, reporting)
            • Detailed Process Control
            • Strong electronics background: ability to work with electronic test equipment
            • Strong understanding and experience with various programming languages
            • Takes initiative on projects and processes.
            • Actively partakes in peer team meetings as a lead to further strengthen engineer teams.
            • Served as technology expert and support to Sr./Project Manager
