Position Description




The posting is for a Yates Field Operator with a hiring range from a level 1 to a level 5, depending on experience and skill set. The position will be a daylight operator position on an 7 day on, 7 day off schedule. The Yates Field Operator position serves a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operations of the Yates Field wells and production facilities. The Yates Field Operations employs a multitude of processes which include three central batteries for oil ,water, and gas processing, over 1,700 wellheads and flow lines, over 80 active production stations, produced gas, CO2, and water gathering and injection systems, VRU's, NGL blending, booster pumps, and other associated infrastructure. Production vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances. Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walk up and down stairs/ladders, negotiate uneven surfaces, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Yates Field operates as an OSHA , VPP Star site.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Promote the Company's EHS philosophy and culture and assist with OSHA VPP efforts
• Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
• Monitoring of wells to meet regulatory requirements
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
• Operation of production equipment to maintain designated operating conditions.
• Surveillance of automated production operations
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment.
• Shutdown and startup of equipment (pumps, facilities, equipment, etc.)
• Lockout and Tagout duties for maintenance work.
• Interact with company and contract personnel.
• Complete all appropriate documentation.
• Provide oral and written communication of activities to appropriate personnel.
• Write Maintenance Work Orders as needed.

  Education Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalentCertifications, licenses, registrations:
    • Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. Preferred competencies, skills and abilities:
      • Solid safety and environmental practices
      • Basic math and computer skills
      • Must be able to handle multiple tasks
      • Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Office applications.
      • Must be a self-starter with a high drive for results
      • Must have good time management skills and be able to handle multiple tasks at same time.
      • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
      • Experience analyzing and maintaining controls and valves
      • Background in Yates production operationsWorking Conditions:
        • Requires working rotating shift schedules, including evenings and holidays.Physical Demands:
          • Be available for call out within 30 minutes during shift or when required
          • May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, and reach with hands and arms.
