Job Title: Mine OperatorReports To: Mine Shift SupervisorLocation: New Mexico - East Plant(Relocation bonus or use of companty housing is available for candidates that qualify when applicable.)OVERVIEWA Mine Operator operates and monitors mine equipment to produce quality products safely and efficiently. This position requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills to make adjustments and fix any issues.We also have underground maintenance and electrical positions available, too.JOB DUTIESOperate mine equipment, including, but not limited to: miner (machine that cuts ore), roof bolter (to mount a 3' bolt in the roof of the mine) dozer and shuttle carExecute tasks to assist in production process, such as: change bits in miner, move power cables, and hand shovel conveyor belt tail sectionsComplete pre-shift inspections, as well as preventative maintenance and equipment clean up, to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficientlyPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GEDValid Driver's LicenseMinimum one (1) year general labor and/or industrial plant experienceOPPORTUNITIESMedical plans with prescription drug coverage, dental insurance and vision insurance401(K) with immediate vesting and generous employer matchWork-life balance with family-friendly work schedulesOpportunity to grow within position through Intrepid's career path programsPPE, uniform shirts and boot vouchers are providedSCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT12-hour shifts, rotating shift schedule, with a 7 day long change once a month. Schedule subject to change.4-night shifts, 3 days off3-day shifts, 1 day off3-night shifts, 3 days off4-day shifts, 7 days offUnderground mining environment that is often not well lit and is at low heightsExposed to louder than moderate noises (ex: vehicle noises, machinery noises, etc.)Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all timesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSStanding, walking, sitting (while driving) over 2/3 of work time, squatting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and fingers movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or graspingMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activityA pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity.
