Be an asset to your community while getting paid for it! The Substance Abuse Counselor provides outpatient substance abuse treatment services. Provides assessment, individual counseling, group therapy, screening, information and education to persons requesting help with substance use disorder and document services. Document all services in CMBHS and the electronic health record. Education Required: High School Diploma or GED and must be a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern with at least 2000 hours or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Applicants with a Bachelors Degree in chemical dependency counseling, sociology, psychology, or a major approved by the department as one related to human behavior and development will be required to apply for LCDC intern status within 1 month of employment. Experience Required: Working experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and demonstrated proficiency in basic computer usage. Applicants with an above listed Bachelors Degree must be willing to obtain Texas Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Intern or full licensure within 45 days of employment. Position Requirements: Valid Driver's License, proof of auto insurance, and insurable through PermiaCare. Required to pass criminal history and background checks as well as pre-employment drug screen. Full Time/Part Time: Full-time position Salary: $18.96 per hour for LCDC intern; $42,579 per year for LCDC. Sign on bonus may be available.
