Job Description:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complies with all Company & Regulatory HS&E & Quality and IT standards and policies. Wears all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required & maintains required HS&E & SQ certifications up-to-date.
  • Operating the assigned rig and equipment in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions as requested or designated by the customers
  • Maintaining regular contact and communication with customers to resolve concerns, issues and complaints
  • Ensuring that quality products and services are provided to the customers including maintaining productivity standards for all rig functions, following safety procedures for a safe working environment and adhering to all applicable governmental regulations for compliance
  • Ensuring efficient maintenance of assigned rig and equipment
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive and safe work environment
  • Tracking and keeping up with pipe tally and drilling depths
  • Maintain and perform safety inspections on equipment and tools
  • Operate controls that raise derricks or level rigs
  • Listen to engines, rotary chains, or other equipment to detect faulty operations or unusual well conditions
  • Prepare reports of services rendered, tools used, or time required, for billing purposes
  • Install pressure-control devices onto wellheads
  • Confer with others to gather information regarding pipe or tool sizes or borehole conditions in wells
  • Operate pumps that circulate water, oil, or other fluids through wells to remove sand or other materials obstructing the free flow of oil
  • Drive truck-mounted units to well sites
  • Interpret instrument readings to ascertain the depth of obstruction
  • Thread cables through derrick pulleys, using hand tools
  • Select fishing methods or tools for removing obstacles such as liners, broken casing, screens, or drill pipe
  • Close and seal wells no longer in use
  • Direct drilling crews performing activities such as assembling and connecting pipe, applying weights to drill pipes, or drilling around lodged obstacles
  • Apply green technologies or techniques such as the use of coiled tubing, slim-hole drilling, horizontal drilling, hydraulic fracturing, or gas lift systems
  • Operate specialized equipment to remove obstructions by backing-off or severing pipes by chemical or explosive action
  • Perforate well casings or sidewalls of boreholes with explosive charges
  • Examine unserviceable wells to determine actions to be taken to improve well conditions
  • Monitor sound wave generating or detecting mechanisms to determine well fluid levels
  • Insert detection instruments into wells with obstructions
  • Ensure procedures are safely implemented and equipment used is properly handled
  • Develops and plans work activities with WIS and customer representatives to ensure the correct equipment is ordered, used, serviced, and maintained according to WIS procedures
  • Work under broad direction and is proficient in Well Intervention applications
  • Constantly expand application knowledge and expertise to include new applications of increasing complexity and risk
  • Document operations accurately as required for completion of WIS paperwork
  • Work in accordance with WIS and client HSE policies, and maintain Legal Compliance
  • Performs Risk Analysis (e.g. HARC, JSA) before each job or task and identifies & addresses potential safety hazards. Corrects and report hazards immediately to direct supervisor and/or rig personnel.
  • Ensures that all completed job documentation is returned to the operating district upon completion for expedited customer billing/invoicing
  • Safely and efficiently utilizes all tools and equipment to support the timely completion of assigned work orders and/or assigned duties, and to optimize throughput MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    • Technical or Engineering Degree OR can be offset with field experience
    • Valid commercial license with a clean driving record
    • Minimum of 10 years' experience
    • Competent in oilfield operations
    • Excellent documentation and reporting skills for databases and reports
    • Microsoft Office Suite - especially with Excel
    • Excellent analytical skills - Root Cause Analysis / Providing Solutions
    • Work well in a team environment, with excellent communication skills in English
    • Must be willing to travel 100% of the time both Domestic and International and work flexible schedule as project requires
    • Excellent work ethic, demonstrated by a positive attitude and completing your work on time
    • Basic computer skills, MS Word, Outlook, Excel & Power Point
    • Ability to work and perform under extreme environmental and weather conditions, such as exposure to heat, dust, fumes or other elements
