SUMMARY:

With general direction from the EH&S Director, the Safety Manager and the Sr. Environmental Engineer, the EH&S Field Advisor works to implement the company's environmental, health and safety programs, policies, and procedures, and to promote compliance with local, state and federal regulations. The EH&S Advisor assists with coordination of environmental remediation and associated reporting, conducts EH&S compliance inspections and supports staff awareness of relevant safety and environmental matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following represents themajority of the duties performed by the position, but isnot meant to beall-inclusivenor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:

  • Ensure timely reporting of EH&S incidents and support incident management operations as needed.
  • Coordinate site remediation/reclamation activities, including contractor activities, in accordance with established work plans and objectives.
  • Inspect and evaluate company and contractor facilities, equipment, and work practices to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, permits and regulations.
  • Assist with coordination of Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections for subject facilities and maintenance of records in accordance with NSPS Quad O/Oa.
  • Assist with coordination of EH&S training and awareness programs.
  • Maintain systems for tracking EH&S training, compliance inspections, and environmental records.
  • Support corporate Carbon Accounting Program and regulatory GHG reporting efforts.
  • Coordinate or perform NORM Surveys.
  • Assist the EH&S Team with Environmental Site Assessments related to Acquisitions, Mergers, Trades and Divestitures.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations and industry best practices. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Degree in Environmental related field or similar education/experience strongly preferred. SKILLS:
      • General knowledge of and ability to research Federal, State, and Local regulations, including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, RRC, TCEQ, NMOCD and NMED
      • Working knowledge of upstream oil and gas exploration and production operations
        • Ability to read and comprehend remediation workplans, laboratory reports, and published standards
        • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various regulatory agencies and all levels of company staff and management.
        • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
        • Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and Word
        • Experience with ArcGIS and Google Earth is a plus
        • Strong oral and written communication skills
        • Must have strong time management, problem-solvingand organizational skills
        • Must be detail-orientedwith the ability to multi-taskwith attention to accuracy
        • Must be a team player thatpossessesthe ability to adapt to a changing and fast-paced work environment

          JOB CONDITIONS:

          Work will be split between an indoor office environment and outdoors at field locations. Incumbents must be able to perform work that requires typing, sitting, standing, and walking. Personal protective equipment including but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing will be required when in the field. Safety rules, including OSHA and DOT requirements, are strictly enforced.

          Travel: Regular day-travel between Midland and field operations areas in the Permian Basin is required. Less frequent travel, less than 10%, to support operations in East Texas will also be necessary.

          COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

          Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 plus Bonus

          Benefit Eligible: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with employer match, Flex Spending & Health Savings accounts, Vacation, Sick and Holiday pay, along with other benefits plans offered to similarly situated employees such as Supplemental Life & AD&D insurance and Short- & Long-Term Disability coverage.

Company takes into consideration a candidate's education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.
