JOB SUMMARY
The Control Room Supervisor is responsible for management of personnel monitoring field operations in a 24x7 control room. The supervisor will develop procedures and assist in managing events until resolution. The position will train Control Room Operators to document all activities and actions taken for each responsible event, with the goal to improve runtime, lower operating cost and support the Cimarex Energy Co. culture of safety. The Control Room Supervisor through the use of SCADA and automation will help assist Control Room Operators diagnose issues through interpretation of data and communicate these to appropriate staff members. The position will provide superior customer support to control room
customers. Position takes direction from Surface Operations Manager. The Control Room Supervisor requires a detail-oriented skillset with exceptional problem solving skills and can lead through critical events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the team in the implementation of ES&H Initiatives
  • Develop and implement the daily plan for Control Room Operators
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure 24/7 monitoring and respond to field upset conditions
  • Provide expertise after hours for handling emergency situations
  • Create new procedures; refresh procedures as needed
  • Develop a training program, produce suitable training materials, and perform training as
    necessary
  • Mentor subordinate's response to critical events
  • Timely relay of data to all necessary parties involved via phone, radio, text or email
  • Ensure continuity between shifts
  • Maintain accurate and up to date shift notes and ensure pertinent details are relayed during shift
    changes
  • Provide expertise for Control Room Operators and Leads in emergency situations
  • Develop and improve on existing techniques and processes
  • Attends weekly meetings for oversite and continued planning guiding the control room to meet
    operational needs
  • Other tasks as assigned
    Job requirements SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of 10+ years of experience with Control Room Operations
    • Experience with oil and gas production
    • Knowledge of piping, pressures
    • Experience with gauging tanks and run tickets
    • Ability to multitask and maintain detail
    • Experience with SCADA software, trending and data analysis
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with various types of remote devices such as Allen Bradley, Fisher ROC, Total Flow, etc.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point and Project)
    • Must be detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
    • Must be a team player that possesses the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment

      EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
      Preferred High School or GED

      YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
      10 or more years Minimum of 10 years of experience with Control Room Operations

      TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
      10% - 15% May be required to travel for business related training or other meetings

      WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND
      Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work
      which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite,
      personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety
      shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are
      strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
