Compression Technician - Midland, TXCertarus USA Ltd ("Certarus"), a leader in the delivery of natural gas fuel, has an opening for a Compression Technician to join their team. Certarus is a leader in providing a fully integrated compressed natural gas (CNG) solution for the North American commercial and industrial markets. Our primary business is the creation of a "Natural Gas Virtual Pipeline" through the compression, transportation, and integration of CNG for the energy services, mining, forestry, and industrial sectors. Our solutions target diesel and propane fuel displacement projects to lower operating costs and reduce environmental impact.Summary:The Compression Technician in Midland, TX will contribute to the preventive and corrective maintenance, application, start-up, commissioning of Certarus' CNG compression assets. The Compression Technician will be a subject matter expert of practical and theoretical aspects of gas compression; mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and operation. Safe operation best practices of the CNG equipment. This position reports directly to Compression Manager.Schedule:* The position involves daily regional travel between Certarus regional hub compressor sites. With a potential to travel outside of the Permian region* 10-14 hour shifts during daylight hours, with afterhours availability & on-call scheduling when neededResponsibilities:* The safe and consistent maintenance to the company's permanent and portable CNG compression equipment* Establishes changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.* Troubleshoot repetitive and intermittent performance issues on component level equipment* Broad electrical, PLC, and instrumentation troubleshooting when necessary* Commissioning new & end service inspections* Contribute to maintaining an effective spares parts and materials inventory* Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and enter reports into CMMS* Maintain CMMS (Computer Management Maintenance System) on a continuous basis* Participate and support in maintenance program development* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed* Maintain a high level of equipment housekeeping.Requirements:* A minimum of 5-7 years field service compressor experience.* Natural Gas Compression and additional OEM and industry training beneficial in lieu of experience* Waukesha VGF, and Ariel systems would be an advantage* Excellent organizational and technical communication skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to influence and to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities* Exceptional work ethic with a positive, analytical, and safe work attitude* Basic skills in the use of computer-based programs such as MS 365Certarus embraces diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way and considers qualifications, merit, and business needs in our hiring decisions.
