Job Description:
EGS is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate
employment for our customer in Carlsbad, NM for the Waste Isolation
Pilot Plant (WIPP) Due to the nature of the work, all candidates
must be US Citizens. These assignments come with Government Per
Diem and Travel which includes one trip home a month, competitive
pay and benefits. The successful candidate will be required to
perform engineering calculations and analysis within the scope of
engineering discipline and provide rigorous written documentation
supporting design decisions. Effectively interface with various
departments including Quality Assurance, Procurement, Project
Management, Operations. Provide technical field leadership support
to solve equipment malfunctions. Maintain system configuration
documentation including, but not limited to system drawings, design
specifications, trending analysis, and system health indicators
including performing system health walk downs and system health
reports. Obtain and maintain qualifications on annual training
covering commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures used to
complete the engineering process. Perform electrical
modification/evaluation of existing systems, perform routine
inspections for adherence to applicable building/construction
codes/regulations, engineering design change processes, and
configuration design control. Minimum Requirements Bachelor of
Science Degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience is
required. (Professional Engineers license is an acceptable
alternative to a baccalaureate. Related experience may substitute
for education at the rate of six semester credit hours for each
year of experience up to a maximum of 60 credit hours. When
combined with experience, completion of technical portions of an
engineering, engineering technology, or related science program may
substitute for the baccalaureate. Completion must be determined by
transcript or certification by a recognized accrediting
organization. Completion of 80 semester credit hours in technical
subjects related to the position may be substituted for the
baccalaureate.) Preferred Qualifications Experience with NFPA 70,
National Electric Code is preferred. Familiarity with NFPA70E,
Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace is a plus.
Knowledge of Low Voltage and Lighting in an industrial Process is
desired. One (1) year of nuclear project experience is preferred.
Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus. If you are interested
