are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the
position of Production Technician within our Permian EOR group
based in our Odessa Asset.
Essential Job Duties:
This position is responsible for oil and gas well operations, well
testing, operating and maintaining field equipment and facilities,
surveillance of general field operations and maintenance of various
databases regarding production and operations. Non-scheduled
callouts outside normal business hours can be expected. Types of
well include flowing, beam pump (with electronic pump-off
controller), ESP (electric submersible pump), water injection and
water disposal. Types of facilities include production tank
batteries, flowlines, LACT (lease automatic custody transfer)
facilities, water injection plants, natural gas compression, flare
systems, and metering devices (electronic gas measurement and
others). Job is to be performed employing safe work practices while
utilizing acceptable environmental procedures to maximize earnings
while minimizing costs on assigned oil and gas producing
properties.
A typical route within the Odessa asset consists of approximately
90 producing wells, 7 to 10 Test Station Satellites (South Cowden -
3 which are Specialized Field Risk Management (SFRM facilities
deemed as potential high risk to public and located in close
proximity to public receptors), and 1 Central Tank Battery. This
person works in a 3-4-person rotation with On Call/First Responder
responsibilities every third - forth week for 7 days. During this
week of On Call/First Responder responsibilities, this person has
Call Out responsibilities (which include after normal working
hours) and weekend duties (on the weekend they are the only
individual working an 8-hour day on call) for multiple routes
(approximately 30 facilities and 230 wells).
First Responder duties include conducting a site assessment to
determine the problem, notification of emergency response (911) to
ensure the safety and welfare of the public and immediate
notification of appropriate Oxy response personnel. This person is
the sole Oxy emergency responder and coordinates all safety
mitigation activities until additional Oxy personnel and local
civil authorities (law enforcement, fire department) arrive on the
scene.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of
co-workers, contractors & the public
Demonstrated self-starter with the drive and ability to set and
achieve annual goals and learn quickly, as well as the initiative
to challenge the status quo
Team-oriented; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with
the ability to interact effectively with team members and other
groups, such as analysts, technicians, and engineers
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work autonomously with
minimal supervision
Excellent time management skills, multi-tasking and prioritization
abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of oil and gas production operations,
including the ability to effectively diagnose, communicate, and
troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including
the ability to keep neat and accurate records
Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities, including
the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement
cost-effective solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Extensive technical skills related to math and analytical
processes
Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Demonstrated knowledge of business fundamentals
Good computer skills; proficient in MS Office software suite
Valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
Additional Desired Qualifications:
3 years oil and gas industry experience
Ability to work with LOWIS, GraphWorx, Maximo
Electrical certification
Relocation: This position is not eligible for relocation.
