• Uses corrosion test equipment and instrumentation.
• Makes cathodic protection pipe to soil surveys, read rectifiers and record readings, inspection, investigations and analyze data.
  • Inspects facilities for atmospheric corrosion.
  • Performs close interval surveys, collects and analyzes data.
  • Initiates remedial actions according to data results.
  • Inspects and maintains CP equipment, records and complete required reports.
  • Prepares as-built sketches and redlines existing drawings.
    • Interprets internal corrosion (IC) data from coupons and liquid sample collections.
    • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization Job Requirements:
      • High school diploma or GED
        • NACE Certifications preferred
        • Knowledge of cathodic protection.
        • Understand equipment manuals and DOT standards/regulatory guidelines.
        • Must be physically able to perform all duties required:
        • Able to pass Corrosion Tech I tests within a reasonable timeframe - if entering classification as a Corrosion Trainee, must pass Corrosion Tech I tests within 6 months. Within (1) year, attain the NACE entry level certification or equivalent. Within 2 years, pass the Corrosion Tech II tests and within three (3) years, attain NACE Level 2 certification or equivalent.---
          • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
          • Good communication skills.
            • This job operates in both inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.--- Noise level may be loud at times. Regularly stoops, squats, kneels and crouches for durations up to 3 minutes.--- Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant.--- Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds.--- Frequently may lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.--- Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders.
