Job Description
The University of Texas Permian Basin's Information Technology
Services (ITS) Department welcomes applications for the position of
Systems Analyst.
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of the Digital Infrastructure
Group
SALARY RANGE: $54,000.00 to $69,000.00, depending upon
qualifications.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Systems Analyst will join the IT
group's infrastructure team and provide technical and
administrative support for server infrastructure and related
technologies.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
1. Primary duties will include serving as the liaison between
Microsoft support and campus users. 2. Will be the
provisioning/de-provisioning of computer accounts for faculty,
staff, students, and alumni in Active Directory and LDAP
environments through Microsoft Identity Manager (or similar
technology).
3. Maintaining the campus LDAP server environment, managing and
configuring a Shibboleth Identity Provider server, and related
integration with two-factor authentication services.
4. Overall responsibility for the operation and security of the
Office 365 environment, including license management,
synchronization to an on-premise environment, and management
through the use of PowerShell.
5. Will also coordinate with team members to ensure a disaster
recovery plan is in place and tested so that these critical
resources are adequately protected.

of the Digital Infrastructure Group.SCHEDULE:This is an exempt
position, and your expected work schedule is Monday through Friday.
As an exempt employee, your schedule may vary based on the number
of hours needed to meet the job responsibilities. The individual
holding this position will need to be available early morning,
evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:1. Employment is subject to an
introductory period to monitor employee performance. Once hired,
the prospective employee must present documentation within three
(3) days of the hire date to establish their identity and
employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs
Enforcement (ICE). Employees must be able and willing to travel and
perform duties away from campus as necessary and must be able to
operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor
vehicle, and possess a valid state driver's license. Must have and
maintain a satisfactory driver's record.

Required Qualifications
REQUIREMENT QUALIFICATIONS:1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
or related field.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience (4 preferred) with selecting,
installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware or similar
equipment.
3. Experience performing problem diagnostics, troubleshooting,
problem resolution, and championing new ideas and innovation.
4. Good understanding of general principles and concepts in server
administration, server security, Active Directory, and
networking.
5. Excellent communication skills with emphasis on the ability to
communicate effectively through clear, concise delivery coupled
with listening attentively, valuing others' perspectives, creating
open dialogue in own areas of influence, and effectively conveying
technical information to non-technical personnel.
6. Good writing skills with the ability to write with accuracy,
simplicity, and completeness while providing an appropriate level
of detail for the intended audience.
7. Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through
principled business ethics, high integrity, follow-through on
commitments, and adherence to procedures.
8. Ability to establish relationships that enhance cooperation and
collaboration.
9. Self-Motivated, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and

10. Ability to prioritize tasks and make progress on multiple
projects simultaneously.
11. Should possess a general understanding of server and
infrastructure technologies, including standard server hardware
components, system security, Linux, and Windows operating
systems.
12. Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment is
required in addition to strong verbal and written communication
skills.
13. Prior experience with server build and imaging processes, SAN
administration, certificate authority management and
administration, networking, PowerShell scripting, and disaster
recovery planning is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Experience providing enterprise-wide
server and data center services for a global organization.
2. Working knowledge and experience with the following technologies
and/or services: Microsoft server operating systems, Linux
Operating systems, DHCP, IIS, SNMP, scripting, file sharing,
network printing, Active Directory, and clustering.
3. Working with data storage technologies and methods.
4. Working knowledge and experience with PowerShell, scripting, and
automation methods.
5. Working knowledge and experience with server/storage hardware
and management tools.
6. Working knowledge and experience with certificate
authorities.
7. Working knowledge and experience with cloud services.
8. Project management and presentation skills.
