Job Title: Engineer Production
Department: Production
Summary: The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing the
daily operation of wells, including constant monitoring of well
performance. You will be responsible for maximizing production and
profitability. You will be expected to assess the production
capabilities and economic value of the wells assigned to you. You
will also be tasked with designing and implementing well
completions, subsurface, and surface production facilities. The
Production Engineer is an integral member of the team and will need
to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create cost estimates and AFEs for new drill wells, workovers,
completions, and well maintenance operations.
- Assess costs and estimate the production capabilities and
economic value of oil and gas wells; to evaluate the economic
viability of potential drilling sites.
- Monitor production trends, design workover, and intervention
programs in order to maximize oil recovery.
- Coordinate with Reservoir Engineers, Geologists, and Frac
Specialist to optimize new well completions.
- Coordinate with Field Operations and Production Surveillance
teams to optimize base production.
- Collaborate on artificial lift selection and design.
- Design, analyze and make recommendations to optimize artificial
lift systems.
- Analyze well failures and make recommendations for
optimization.
- Coordinate with Reservoir Engineers and Geologists in
developing capital programs.
- Track and monitor capital spending to ensure compliance with
capital budgets.
- Coordinate with Field Operations to develop LOE budget.
- Track and monitor LOE spending to ensure compliance with LOE
budgets.
- Provide technical support to Field Operations, Drilling,
Reservoir Engineering, and Geology
- May require frequent visits to field locations. Required
Qualifications:
- B.S. in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of two (2) years prior experience as a Production
Engineer.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in oil shale plays and
unconventional assets.
- Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience with rod
design, nodal analysis, or ESP design programs.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of Permian Basin experience.
- One (1) year of field production operations experience
- Two (2) years of horizontal and multiple stage completion
experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of government regulations and permitting
requirements.
- Motivated self-starter capable of performing with minimal
supervision
