Overview / Responsibilities

We are looking for a deadline-driven construction superintendent to oversee our construction project and to act as the link between various project parties. The construction superintendent will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on site. The construction superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on-site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are always available on-site. You will liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals. To ensure success you should complete projects on time and within budget, and never compromise on quality. Top candidates will be strong leaders, pro-active, and perform well under pressure.

Skills / Qualifications

• Prepare 3-week schedule and distribute to all required departments
• Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors Participate in weekly project meetings as required
  • Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule
  • Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.)
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented
  • Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
    • Delegate responsibility and assure its proper completion
    • Work with company recruiter to hire General Forman, Forman, and other Journeyman level craft required to complete the work
      Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
      
      • Graduate with an engineering, construction management or similar educational experience preferred
      • Civil, construction and concrete experience within a heavy industrial environment
        • 5 years supervisory experience in heavy industrial construction
        • Demonstrated ability to supervise 25 or more employees
        • Demonstrated planning and scheduling experience
        • Four to five years previous experience as a General Foreman or 3 Years as a Superintendent in a single discipline on an industrial construction project; Previous knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workface planning, and estimating is required
        • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups
          Communication Skills:
          
          • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines
          • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
          • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos
          • Ability to write simple correspondence
