Job Description:
Job Summary Assists the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing
medications to patients. Performs designated technical functions to
facilitate pharmacy operations. Performs functions of pharmacy
technician under supervision of pharmacist. Coordinates and handles
the pharmacy supply ordering, inventory control, accurate billing,
and charge capture specific to oncology patient care services.
Physical Requirements The ability to perform the duties and
responsibility of the position, with or without reasonable
accommodations for disabilities. The ability to consistently lift,
push or pull loads of up to fifty (50) pounds. (Unless nursing 50)
Sufficient strength, mobility and stamina to make frequent location
and position changes, assist with patient care, and perform other
physical activities of average difficulty. Candidates whose

to infectious or contagious disease. May have to handle emergency

Requirements Must be able to see with corrective eye wear. Must be
able to hear clearly with assistance. Working Conditions Primarily
Works in a well-lighted and air-conditioned environment with period
of heavy workload and stress. This role may include working in
less-than-ideal home conditions, which can include exposure to
extreme temperatures and environments that may not meet typical
cleanliness standards such as clutter, unkept surfaces, and homes
with pets. Works in various conditions. Performance: Essential

member when appropriate. Time Management: Works efficiently and
manages duties to ensure that tasks are completed with accuracy and

Computer Knowledge & Electronic Equipment Use: Demonstrates ability
to consistently utilize electronic equipment and online computer
programs to perform job duties, including electronic documentation,
and order entry. Resource Utilization: Consistently utilizes and
maintains supplies and equipment to minimize lost charges and
unnecessary equipment repair-replacement. Confidentiality: Adheres
to established policies on privacy and security requirements for
compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA), as applicable by Shannon Policy. Responsibilities
Supervises the Following Positions Positions: N/A Performance:
Position Specific Essential Functions Navigation through physician
orders, processing nursing requests: Demonstrates accurate
knowledge and skill to carry out job duties. Follows through with
phone calls and sees tasks to completion. Able to accurately
document chemotherapy waste in the patient's medical record
according to department work procedures. Assists pharmacists and
other personnel with IV therapy information such as compatibility,
stability, and storage requirements specific to IV
chemotherapy/cytotoxic medications Preparation of IV Sterile
Products Using the Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) Prepares
chemotherapy immunotherapies, methacholine, preparations, and other
products prepared in the BSC. Responsible for keeping BSC clean and
orderly along with maintaining Chemotherapy room clean and orderly
per cleaning procedures in accordance with USP 797/ 800 standards
and documents accordingly. Customer Focus- Personally demonstrates
that external (or internal) customers are a high priority.
Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in
a timely and effective manner. Anticipates and prevents delays or
other things that can adversely affect the customer. Work Ethic- Is
keenly aware of the time frame in which tasks or projects need to
be done. Accepts and mirrors the level of urgency conveyed by the
Director of Pharmacy or customer being served. Puts first priority
on the needs of the organization or the needs of its customers.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education
Preferred High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Experience:
Preferred Two years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Certification/Licensure: Required Certified Pharmacy Tech/CPT
Registered Pharmacy Tech Valid Texas Driver's License IV
Certification OR Hazardous Drug Sterile Compounding Training
